Where we serve- making a difference

Everyone is welcome!

If you're searching for ways to build relationships between neighbors, spread compassion, offer healing and hope, you've found it. We follow Jesus in serving others, but you may have another reason. That's ok. You are most welcome to volunteer for one or more of our many projects. You do not have to be a member or even a regular participant of Trinity UMC to join us in making a difference in our neighborhood and around the world.

Some of our many projects

Phillippi Shores Elementary School
Our primary local project supports the staff and families of our neighborhood elementary school. These efforts are part of a larger vision organized by Hope Kids Community- partnering every school in Sarasota County with a faith community. You are welcome and encouraged to join us in this neighbors helping neighbors project. Click here for more information.

Imagine No Malaria
We are proud to join efforts with the Gates Foundation, the United Nations, and millions of Methodists across the world to end malaria in our lifetime. Malaria kills one person every minute. It's preventable, treatable, and beatable. Since 2001, this effort has cut the death rate in half. Click here for more information.

Missionary Connie DiLeo
It is our honor to partner with missionary Connie DiLeo, who serves in the Dominican Republic. Click Here to get to know Connie.

Pahokee Building Teams
Thanks to Hank Lunsford, we have a long standing relationship with the small Florida community of Pahokee. We partner with them in rebuilding homes and lives in this economically challenged community. Come with us on a Thursday-Saturday work weekend.

Communion Offerings
It was the custom of the early church to receive an offering for the poor every time they shared Holy Communion. We continue the tradition the first Sunday of every month, blessings both local projects and projects outside our immediate area.

Crop Walk
In March of every year, we step out with hundreds across Sarasota for a 5 mile walk to raise awareness and funding to fight hunger through Church World Service. CWS is passionate about ensuring sustainable access to proper, nutritious food, supporting more than 2,200 local hunger-fighting groups across the U.S and around the world, including All Faiths Food Bank right here in Sarasota. Click here for more information on Crop Walk.

Florida United Methodist Children's Home
The Florida United Methodist Children's Home was established in 1908 to provide a home for orphans and other children that had nowhere else to live. Today it serves as a diverse ministry with two campuses (Enterprise and Madison) that include residential, therapeutic group, foster and emergency shelter care. The Home also provides independent living assistance and a community child care center. We take an offering for the Children's Home on 5th Sundays.

Operation Christmas Child
Every November, we partner with Samaritan's Purse to provide shoeboxes full of gifts for children in developing countries.
