About Us
Trinity is a Christian Church excited to be part of the United Methodist Church - a worldwide movement of Jesus Christ and the second largest Protestant denomination in North America. United Methodists hold to the historic standards of the Trinitarian Christian Faith and look to the Bible as the authoritative guide for life and faith. The founder of the Methodist movement, John Wesley, described Methodists as having a "warmed heart" - a vital personal relationship with God through Jesus and made present by the Holy Spirit - and an "enlightened mind."
United Methodists are evangelical, but moderate rather than fundamentalist. The Methodist Church is as much a product of the Enlightenment as it is the Protestant Reformation and has founded over 200 colleges and universities many of which have strong theology and science departments including Bethune-Cookman University and Florida Southern College here in Florida. We are willing to ask questions, to wrestle with difficult issues, and to do so with grace and compassion.
We value well-informed, passionate, and Biblical preaching, worship that is lively, and small groups where people can grow in faith and serve Christ in our community. Trinity enjoys celebrating God's Presence through many varieties of worship including children, youth, and adults and incorporating contemporary and traditional music, arts, and technology.
Methodists have open hearts and open minds - and welcome anyone interested in learning more about the Christian faith. If you would like to know what it means to follow Christ, please call 941.924.7756 and ask to speak to our pastor or e-mail us. |
